We all know that a woman’s most important accessory is her handbag, but with all the oversized (so big you could fit your house in them) handbags that have been floating around from previous seasons, its time for a change.. . Yes, an oversize bag is perfect for a weekend away or a carry-on, but can easily be mistaken for hoarding one’s life possessions with them everwhere they go, nobody wants to be that crazy lady. Then we have the messengers, which are a great hands-free handbag option! However, can sometimes look a little too casual making a very delicate look seem sloppy and occasionally that ugly word… frumpy. As I was saying change is good! Let’s make the streets safer by downsizing our handbags and carrying something a little smaller! That’s where our friend the mighty clutch comes into play! Made small enough to fit in one hand and big enough to carry under the arm, clutches are a great alternative to over-sized handbags.
Making its return on Fall 2011 runways, designers and fashion bloggers everywhere are embracing this trend. Embossed, sequined, snake-skin, or just leather, there are oodles of options out there just waiting to accompany you and your outfit!
Clutches make your life easier by downsizing the amount of stuff you carry with you on a daily basis. As opposed to a bulky bag with an unattractive strap, a clutch makes a great accessory for that perfect evening dress, prom dress, or LBD. Most of us have this belief that, a clutch can only be carried for special occasions, but that’s not really the case. Many styles actually come with a strap, or chain, that you can either wear on your shoulder or across your body to make carrying your bag easier and gives it a more relaxed image while staying away from the larger more obnoxious bags.
